Invitation to register for TopQuants Autumn Workshop 2013 – Thursday 7 November

TopQuants – the networking organisation by quants for quants based in the Netherlands – is organising another workshop on:

Current topics in modelling and risk management

The workshop will take place on Thursday 7 November, with registration starting from 15:00, and sessions lasting until approximately 18:00. After this there will be a buffet dinner and drinks, and the doors will close at around 20:15. The event will be held at the ABN Amro Dialogues House in Amsterdam (Foppingadreef 22, 1102 BS Amsterdam Zuidoost), which is at walking distance from the train/metro station Amsterdam Bijlmer and metro station Bullewijk.

Following the pre-announcement distributed earlier, this constitutes the official invitation to participate.

The format will be similar to that of the TopQuants Autumn workshops held in previous years, i.e. there will be two slots each offering several parallel sessions. You will have the opportunity to attend one parallel session in each slot. You will find an overview of the sessions offered here. Contrary to previous years, we have not decided on an allocation of the sessions over the two slots, and will therefore let your interests guide us. Please do therefore indicate your preferences (at least your top two, preferably your top four) for these sessions in your registration form. Preferences will be accommodated on a “first come first served” basis. Experience shows that popular sessions are booked out fast, so please register now in order to get into the session you are most interested in.

Please complete the registration form before October 31st, 2013 to register your participation and to let us know your preferences for the sessions. We reserve the right to close the registration early in case the capacity of the venue has been reached. If the registration has been received successfully, you will receive an e-mail soon thereafter. You can treat this as your confirmation, unless you receive an e-mail from the TopQuants team stating otherwise.

Note: you will find out which sessions you are attending at the event. We will try and take into account your first preferences as much as possible.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

15:00 – Registration and coffee
15:45 – Word of welcome by ABN Amro and TopQuants
16:00 – First round of parallel sessions
17:00 – Second round of parallel sessions
20:15 – Event ends

TopQuants Autumn Workshop 2013 – Why should I attend?

Are you interested in technical quant topics? Would you like to know more about what regulation does and how it will impact the work of quants in the Netherlands? Are you curious to hear how quantitative topics are viewed by quants at other banks, financial institutions or academia? Do you appreciate networking opportunities?

The TopQuants Autumn Workshop aims to provide you with just this! It will offer two rounds of parallel sessions. Each parallel session will last for about 50 minutes.

At the start of each session, speakers will provide a brief introduction before going into more technical details. The presentations will be followed by a discussion between all session participants, including the speaker(s). To facilitate the discussion, sessions will be attended by a session host.

To conclude the event, there will as usual be complimentary drinks and buffet dinner with plenty of networking opportunities for all participants. We are very grateful that ABN Amro has once again agreed to host a TopQuants event after the Autumn event that was held there back in 2011, and are sure that their Dialogues House will provide a stimulating and interactive setting for all participants.
