Best Quant Finance Thesis Award 2020

TopQuants in cooperation with Quants.NL and EY announce the 2020 edition of the

BEST QUANT FINANCE THESIS AWARD

Call for submission

Master students, graduates and their supervisors are invited to submit high quality MSc theses in any topic in quantitative finance, e.g. market, credit and operational risk, derivatives, trading and financial markets modelling, fintech and data analytics, pension, asset management and insurance. Students of any MSc program can submit their work; academic or industry supervisors also can submit outstanding theses on behalf of the graduate.

Apart from the main Best Quant Finance Thesis Award, there will be also a special award for best thesis in Sustainability and Climate Change. Theses that qualify for this award should substantial contribution in helping financial institutions and investors incorporate sustainability their organizations, address climate risk in the overall risk framework or make more sustainable investment decisions.

All submitted theses must have a clear quantitative finance focus, contain high quality original theoretical and/or empirical work and the thesis must be finalized in the period between October 15th, 2019 and November 15, 2020.

The deadline for submission is November 15th, 2020, 23:59 CET.

The three finalists will be chosen by the jury of top quant finance professionals. Given the adverse circumstances we are in at the moment, we cannot meet face to face this year. So all three finalists will hold the title “Laureate of Best Quant Finance Thesis Award” for the whole year. The winner of the award will be decided on the next Quant Careers Symposium which we hope hold again in Amsterdam in November 2021. In January 2021, the three laureates and the winner of the Sustainability award will present their work on a webinar organized by VU Alumni Relations. The laureates will be considered as presenters for the next TopQuants symposium.

As always, the author of the winning thesis will receive the award of €2500.
