QUANT CAREERS 2015 MINISYMPOSIUM

We welcome all quant finance professionals, students in quantitative finance, finance, mathematics and econometrics, as well as quant finance graduates to attend this exciting event.

The theme of this year’s symposium is “Quants and Emotions”. The two invited speakers will shed light on this theme from different angles:

Nathan Attrell, the head of European Business, Hedge Funds and Proprietary Trading of Thomson Reuters, will talk about the role of social media, psychology and sentiment in investment decisions;

Nelly Litvak, a mathematics professor and bestselling author, will present her new book “IQ to love” (see here or here), where she gives advice to smart and quantitatively-focused men (aka “nerds”) on how to find and keep a relationship. She will also talk about what makes highly intelligent people attractive to the opposite sex.

Furthermore, the Best Quant Finance Thesis Award 2015 will be awarded during this event. The three finalists will pitch their quant thesis and the winner will be decided and announced.

The day will conclude with drinks, food and plenty of opportunities for informal networking.
